Welcome to School of Philosophy Guildford

Shakespeare Reading Group

These groups are intended to provide an opportunity to discover truths about human life as expressed in Shakespeare’s plays and poems.

Shakespeare is able to give voice to inner human processes and to provide remarkable illustrations as to what will result from one course of action and what from another.

During meetings, we read scenes from the current play (either in parts or round the room) and stop whenever we come across something we wish to consider or discuss. We read about a play a term with the occasional session on sonnets.

This group is currently meeting online and is facilitated by Jon Lewis

The groups are open to all who are or have been) members of the School. There is no charge for those currently paying philosophy fees at the school. For others, a small termly charge is made towards the cost of the facilities.

If you would like to know more, or join one of the groups, please contact Jon Lewis at jrglewis@aol.com
